ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ : ਸਿਆਸਤ ‘ਚ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਕਦੋਂ ਕੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਸੂਬੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ‘ਚ ਜਿਸ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਹੁੱਡਾ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਤੰਵਰ ਨੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਛੱਡੀ ਸੀ, ਉਸੇ ਹੁੱਡਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਟਕਾ ਪਹਿਨਾ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ‘ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਕਿਆ ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ ‘ਚ ਵੀ ਵਾਪਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਲਵਿਦਾ ਕਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਹੁਣ ਉਸੇ ਚੰਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਰਵਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਦੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ‘ਚ ਵਧਦੇ ਕੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਦੱਸੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੱਕਰਾਂ ‘ਚ ਜਾਨ ਗੁਆ ਬੈਠਾ ਚਾਚਾ ਸੂਬਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਦੀ ‘ਗ਼ੈਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ’ ‘ਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਚਾਰ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੇ ਪੰਚਾਇਤੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕਈ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਸਤੀਫ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਵੀ ਗਾਹੇ-ਬਗਾਹੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਕੋਈ ਟਿੱਪਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਚੁੱਪੀ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਅਰਥ ਕੱਢੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਨੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਖੜ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਚਾਹਵਾਨ ਹਨ। ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਨੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ‘ਚ ਹਨ। ਚੰਨੀ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਇਹ ਤਰਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ‘ਚ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਘੱਟ ਹੈ। ਦੂਜਾ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਜਪਾ ‘ਚ ਆਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ‘ਚ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਤੰਵਰ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਹੈ। ਤੰਵਰ ਦੀ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਚਰਚਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ‘ਚ ਵੀ ਝਟਕਾ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਨ ਲਈ ਲਾਬਿੰਗ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਰਚਾਵਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਨੇਤਾ ਤਰੁਣ ਚੁੱਘ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਮੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੁਭਾਸ਼ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਭਾਜਪਾ ‘ਚ ਆਏ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਲਾਬਿੰਗ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਬਰਨਾਲਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਕੇਵਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ, ਗੁਰੂਹਰਸਹਾਏ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਰਾਣਾ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੋਢੀ ਤੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਧੜੇਬੰਦੀ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੇ ਗਿੱਦੜਬਾਹਾ, ਬਰਨਾਲਾ, ਚੱਬੇਵਾਲ ਤੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਠੋਕਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਕੀ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਕਾਟੋ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਕਾਰਨ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਸਕੇਗੀ, ਇਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਆਗੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਭਾਜਪਾਈ ਨੇਤਾ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਦੇ ਸੂਬਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਨ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਿਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਲਈ ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਜਪਾ ‘ਚ ਕੁਝ ਹੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਬੋਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਪਰ ਅੰਦਰਖਾਤੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਮ ਚੱਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਡਿਊਟੀਆਂ ਲਾਈਆਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਜਾਖੜ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਈ ਗਈ। ਜਾਖੜ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਬਹਾਨੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਈ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ‘ਚ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ‘ਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਚੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ। ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਰਵਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਿੱਟੂ ਦੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਕੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹਨ।

In Haryana, Ashok Tanwar, who had left the Congress after opposing former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, was brought back into the party by Hooda himself. Now, a similar scenario is playing out in Punjab.
Sunil Jakhar, who left the Congress in protest after Charanjit Singh Channi was appointed Chief Minister, is reportedly preparing to rejoin the Congress after a recent meeting with Channi. Jakhar is said to be unhappy with the rising influence of BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu and is rumored to be considering leaving the BJP.
During Jakhar’s absence, the Punjab BJP has been busy preparing for by-elections in four assembly constituencies and panchayat elections. For the past several months, Jakhar has distanced himself from party activities and has been upset with the senior leadership. Although there have been occasional rumors about his resignation, Jakhar has yet to comment on the matter, leading to much speculation about his silence.
According to sources, Jakhar is interested in rejoining his former party, Congress, and has been in contact with former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. It is believed that Channi recently met with Jakhar, and the rationale behind his potential return to Congress is twofold: the BJP’s central leadership seems less interested in Punjab, and most of the Congress leaders who joined the BJP have returned to Congress.
The Congress is feeling optimistic, especially after Ashok Tanwar’s return to the party in Haryana. Following Tanwar’s comeback, there is growing speculation that the BJP could face a setback in Punjab as well.
Lobbying for New Punjab BJP President
Meanwhile, discussions have begun within the BJP about appointing a new state president. Among the leading candidates is senior leader Tarun Chugh, while the name of BJP vice-president Subhash Sharma is also being floated. Additionally, former Congress leaders who recently joined the BJP, such as former MLA from Barnala, Keval Singh Dhillon, former MLA from Guru Har Sahai, Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, and former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, have also started lobbying for the position. However, internal factionalism within the party could pose a significant challenge for the BJP.
Although the Punjab BJP has claimed that it is well-prepared for the upcoming by-elections in Gidderbaha, Barnala, Chabbewal, and Dera Baba Nanak, it remains to be seen whether the party can overcome internal divisions and secure a victory.
Old BJP Leaders Unhappy
According to reports, some of the long-time BJP leaders were not pleased with Sunil Jakhar’s appointment as state president. These leaders felt that someone from within the party, who had dedicated years of service to the BJP, should have been given the position, rather than Jakhar, who had only recently joined the party. While these leaders did not voice their displeasure publicly, such sentiments were common within party circles. It has also come to light that Jakhar was not consulted on key decisions, such as the allocation of responsibilities for the upcoming by-elections. Jakhar has reportedly skipped several party meetings, and it is believed that he has met with senior BJP leaders recently to express his dissatisfaction on various issues, particularly regarding Ravneet Singh Bittu’s growing influence in the party.
This internal discord has led to rumors that the BJP may face challenges in Punjab, especially with key leaders like Jakhar considering a return to Congress.
