ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਉਪ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਵੀ.ਕੇ. ਸਕਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਨਵੰਬਰ 1984 ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ 47 ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਸੌਂਪੇ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਤਿਲਕ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਤਿਲਕ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਪਾਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਪੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਨਾਲ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ
ਉਪ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਵੀਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਮਾਣ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ। 40 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਦਮ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
1984 ‘ਵਿਧਵਾ ਕਾਲੋਨੀ’ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਬਦਲਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ
ਉਪ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਨੇ ਤਿਲਕ ਵਿਹਾਰ ‘ਵਿਧਵਾ ਕਾਲੋਨੀ’ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਾਂ ਬਦਲਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਦਰਦ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ, ਪਰ ਹਮਦਰਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਖਮ ਭਰੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਦਿੱਲੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ
ਦਿੱਲੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਹਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਲਕਾ ਨੇ ਉਪ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੜ ਵਸੇਬੇ ਵੱਲ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਦਮ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਰੱਖਣ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
437 ਹੋਰ ਅਰਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਲਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ
ਉਪ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਨੇ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ 437 ਹੋਰ ਅਰਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਜਲਦੀ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਮਨਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿਰਸਾ, ਜਗਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ, ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੱਪੂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।

Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena handed over appointment letters for government jobs to 47 members of families affected by the 1984 Sikh massacre. The event was held at Tilak Vihar Park, located in the Tilak Nagar area of West Delhi.
A Fresh Start for the Victim Families
The LG stated that these jobs are not merely employment opportunities but a symbol of a fresh start and restored dignity for the victim families. After a delay of 40 years, this initiative has brought a sense of relief to the affected families.
Renaming of ‘Widow Colony’ Announced
Saxena also announced the renaming of Tilak Vihar’s ‘Widow Colony’ as per the wishes of the local residents. He emphasized that while the pain of losing loved ones can never fade, empathy and support can help heal those wounds.
Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Committee Expresses Gratitude
The President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Harmeet Singh Kalka, thanked the LG for this step, calling it a significant move towards rehabilitating the affected families. He remarked that constructive relationships with the government can result in accomplishing much-needed progress.
Verification Process for 437 More Applications Ordered
The LG instructed the concerned departments to expedite the verification process for 437 pending applications and issue appointment letters to the victims at the earliest.
