ਕੁਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀਰਾ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਰਕਰਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸ਼ਵਾਸਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

As the situation escalated, former MLA and district Congress president Kulbir Singh Zira, along with his supporters, sustained injuries while heading towards Zira Main Chowk to file their nomination papers. The opposing faction began throwing bricks and stones at them, leading to violence.
Kulbir Singh Zira alleged that the attack had been planned in advance and emphasized that he had brought this to the attention of the Election Commission.
In response, SP Ranish Chaudhary assured that the situation was under control and that strict action was being taken against those involved in throwing stones and bricks.
As tensions rose, a sense of fear spread among the local residents, raising concerns over the integrity of the electoral process.
