MP ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਕਲਸੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ ਨਾ ਲੜਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ
ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਆਕਾਲ ਜੀ, ਅੱਜ ਡਿਬਰੂਗੜ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਕਲਸੀ ਸਾਬ ਦਾ ਫੋਨ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਏ “ਸਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਵੈਸੇ ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ । ਪਰ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਾਬੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਨਮ ਭੂਮੀ ਵੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਥਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਪੂਜਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਮਜਬੂਰੀ ਵਸ਼ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੋ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲੜਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇਹ ਸਹੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲੜਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਏ, ਨਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਪਣੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਮੰਗਕੇ ਓਥੇ ਦੇ ਵਸਨੀਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਏਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜਦ ਵੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਚ ਆਵਾ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾ ਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣਾਵਾ, ਫੇਰ ਵੋਟ ਮੰਗਣ ਦਾ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਜਦ ਵੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਾ ਜਿਸ ਵੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਚੋ ਚੋਣ ਲੜਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਬਹੁਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਲਸੀ”

“Sat Sri Akal! I have a lot of love for the entire Punjab. However, Dera Baba Nanak holds a special significance for me because it is the land connected to Baba Nanak and also my mother’s birthplace. This place is sacred to me. I never intended to enter politics, but out of compulsion, I announced my decision to contest elections from Dera Baba Nanak.
However, given the current circumstances, I feel that perhaps this is not the right time for me to contest these elections, as the people here have neither listened to me nor truly known me. I believe that asking for votes in the name of my release would mean using the residents of the area, which my conscience does not allow.
I want to ensure that whenever I enter politics, I first work in the region and build a rapport with the people there, then I would be deserving of asking for their votes. Whenever I enter politics or contest from any party, I will aim to set an example for the improvement of the area.
