ਸ੍ਰੌਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਸ ਕਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੀਰਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ 15 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਣ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਚੌਣਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਟਿੱਪਣੀ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਚੌਣਾ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰਿਕ ਢੰਗ ਤਰੀਕਿਆ ਮੁਤਾਬਿਕ ਨਾ ਹੋਕੇ ਜਬਰਸੰਮਤੀਆ ਰਾਹੀ ਸਰਬਸੰਮਤੀਆ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਕੇ ਕਰਾਈਆ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆ ਹਨ । ਸ੍ਰ ਕਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੀਰਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਲੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਖਤ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਨਾਮਜਦਗੀਆ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਦਿਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਦਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਪੰਚ ਤੇ ਪੰਚ ਖੜੇ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਨਾਮਜਦਗੀਆ ਹੀ ਨਹੀ ਭਰਨ ਦਿੱਤੀਆ ਗਈਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਬਰੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਸਰਪੰਚ ਤੇ ਪੰਚ ਲੋਕਾ ਦੀਆ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾ ਦੇ ਬਿਲਕੁੱਲ ਉਲਟ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕਰਨਗੇ ?
Shiromani Akali Dal General Secretary and spokesperson Karnail Singh Peermuhammad made sharp remarks regarding the upcoming Panchayat elections in Punjab on October 15. He stated that these elections are not being conducted democratically but rather through forced consensus under the guise of unanimity. Peermuhammad urged the Election Commission to take strict notice of this issue, as a large number of people were not even allowed to file nominations for Sarpanch and Panch seats on the last day of nominations. He questioned how forcibly appointed Sarpanches and Panchs, who go against the people’s sentiments, would bring any meaningful development.
