ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ 4 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ (ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ):- ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਦੇ ਵਾਰਡਨ ਸਿਟੀ ਪਾਰਕ ਵਿਖ਼ੇ ਇਕ ਬੜੀ ਹੀ ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਇਕ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਸਹਿਜ ਪਾਠ ਰਖਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਈ ਪਰ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ 37 ਸਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਜੋ ਕਿ 4-5 ਹਫਤਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਗਿਆਨਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਰਾਮਗੜੀਆ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਫਾਰ ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਵਿਖੇ ਰੋਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਉਸਨੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰ ਗੁਲਜ਼ਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਸਹਿਜ ਪਾਠ ਰਖਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਏ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਜਦੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਚ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਮਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਨਿਊਯੌਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਟੀਵੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮੰਦਭਾਗੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਨਾ ਵਾਪਰ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਸਾਓ ਕਾਉਂਟੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜੱਜ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਚ ਵਾਰੰਟ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਾਸ਼ੀ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਇਜ਼ਾਜਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਬੁਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਰਡਨ ਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਉਸਨੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਿਸ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੁਖਾਂਤ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਘਰ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਮਾਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਭਲੀਨ ਕੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਦਾਲਤ, 99 ਮੈਨ ਸੇਂਟ, ਹੈਂਪਸਟੋਡ ਵਿਖੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
New Delhi, October 4 (Manpreet Singh Khalsa): A serious incident occurred at Warden City Park in New York, where a woman took Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to her home for a Sahaj Paath but later refused to return it to the Gurdwara, locking her doors instead.
According to reports, 37-year-old Prabhleen Kaur had been volunteering daily at Gurdwara Gyan Sar Sahib, Ramgarhia Sikh Society in New York for the past 4-5 weeks. She requested the Gurdwara’s sevadars, including Gulzar Singh, to bring Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to her home for the Sahaj Paath. However, when the sevadars later arrived to retrieve the Guru Granth Sahib, Prabhleen Kaur refused to return it.
After this news was reported by Punjab TV in New York, the Respect Committee and Sikh Sangats began to keep a vigil outside Prabhleen Kaur’s home to prevent any unfortunate incidents. A complaint was also lodged with Nassau County Police, leading a judge to grant a search warrant for the home.
Police reported that when officers went to Prabhleen Kaur’s house in Garden City on Wednesday, she refused to open the door. Subsequently, members of the Emergency Services Unit entered her home and arrested her without any untoward incidents. The police recovered Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from her residence, which was then respectfully returned to the Gurdwara by a group of five Sikh individuals under the guidance of the Respect Committee.
The police also stated that Kaur was taken to a nearby hospital for a mental health evaluation. She has been charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and will be presented in the First District Court at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
